Ever heard of the saying “like a sitting duck”? Think of the two main times in the books when Prim is said to have a duck tail. Just before the Reaping in the Hunger Games, and just before the bombs go off in the Capitol towards the end of Mockingjay. During the Reaping, she’s chosen, though Katniss goes in for her. In the bombing, she’s actually going towards the danger rather than away. In a way whether it is intended or not, with Prim having the duck tail, it could be taken as symbolism for her being the sitting duck, with a target on her and not even realizing it.
